Floating Timber Floors

The term floating floor relates to a floor that rests on a thin foam underlay.

The advantage of floating floors is that they can be laid over existing flat surfaces whether that is timber or concrete.

There are two types of finishes available, they are laminated and veneered and both come in tongue n' grooved and “click-in” systems.

Types of Installation

These floors, as the name implies, are suspended above a sub-floor.  Foam underlay is installed first and the top flooring is then installed as a finished surface.

Styles
There is a very large range of colours and styles available. Some have a laminated surface whilst others have a natural timber surface.

Trims
Floating floors need expansion room left around all edges. A trim is neatly fitted over these gaps or alternatively skirting boards can be removed and replaced.
